Adult Congenital Heart Disease

Dr Matthew Barnard (Consultant Anaesthetist at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London), speaking at the Cardiothoracic London Anaesthetic Partnership's May GUCH meeting, gives a fantastic overview of adult congenital heart disease.


Dr Barnard covers the changing demographics of GUCH patients in the UK, anatomy and physiology of CHD and Fontan circulations as well as anaesthesia and surgery for GUCH procedures.   


This video (from 25:40) also features a fantastic section on the tricuspid valve (using a pig heart) to help orientate the viewer to the TV in preparation for later videos from this meeting.

TOE Imaging of the Tricuspid Valve

Dr Smith uses both TOE clips and virtual dissection from the HeartWorks TOE simulator software package to bring the tricuspid valve to life!
